GCAT, or Genome Comparison & Analytic Testing, is a collaborative platform for comparing multiple genome analysis tools across a standard set of metrics and with standard data sets. Users download common data sets from the GCAT site and then run them through their favorite tools on their own system. Results are then uploaded into the GCAT system so that they can be compared with other analytical runs, either with the same tool with different parameter settings or with completely different tools. Over time, this community-driven tool will allow NGS users to compare a wide variety of tools across a number of different data sets.
